A Loving Child
By George Whithead

Karen has gone to work which just leaves Kimberley and me
So I gave her something to eat and let her watch TV
After she had ate her food and washed her dishes
what happened next was beyond all my wishes
She put her arms around my neck (which sometimes gets me mad)
But this time she whispered in my ear "I love you dad"
With a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye
I told her that I loved her and would till the day that I die
Who would have thought who would have known
that this girl would love me more than my own
