Rock & Roll Years
By Ann Richardson

Do you remember those rock and roll years?
Sticky out skirts and beehive hair
White lips, black eyes  and plenty of tears
Because you'd been kept in and thought it unfair
Teddy boy suits  crepe soles and bopping
Man, weren't those times  really great
With parents screaming and hopping
Saying "don't you dare stay out late".
In the aisle of the pictures we would dance
To the Elvis presley songs
And the manager would give us a dirty glance
But we ignored  it and carried on
Aye they were times of laughter and sorrow
As I look back I shed a few tears
I'd forget all about my tommorows
If I could go back to those rock and roll years
